Roasted Chicken

The taste of roasted chicken or (letchon manok) in the Philippines is way too different here in the US. I love the roasted chicken in the Philippines. The taste is so perfect and how the way they cooked it. They put a lots of fresh spices, the yummy sauce and green grass or we called it (tanglad). But here is just the various spices, sauce and whatsoever. I wish they put tanglad to make the chicken smell good and yummy to eat. That's the smell that I missed in roasted chicken when I eat. We had roasted chicken last night in our dinner. The taste is ok, but there's no tanglad. It's a mexican style of cooking. I was craving so badly the letchon manok style from the Philippines. Miss it sooo much! Can't wait to go home someday and eat those yummy letchon manok.

Pinay Victim in Haiti Quake

This is a very sad news for us as a Filipino people. I found this news pasted below, one of our fellow Pinay died from the devastating earthquake in Haiti while working, her body will be shipped tomorrow in the Philippines. Her name is Mary Grace Fabian, from Manila. My most sincere condolences to her family. We'll pray for her souls.

THE Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) on Wednesday said the remains of a Filipino female worker who was found in the rubble of a supermarket in Haiti in the aftermath of the great earthquake there will be shipped to Manila on Friday.

In a report to the DFA, Philippine Vice Consul to Cuba Jason Anasarias said the remains of Mary Grace Fabian was shipped to Manila from Santo Domingo in the Dominican Republic on Tuesday after completion of documentary requirements.

Fabian’s body was pulled out of the collapsed Carribean supermarket at 11 a.m. on February 7 in Haiti (12 noon, February 8 in Manila), said DFA spokesman Eduardo Malaya on Wednesday.

“She was positively identified by Lowel Lalican, the husband of Geraldine Lalican, another migrant worker still trapped under the rubble of the supermarket,” Malaya said.

He added that Fabian, an employee of the Carribbean supermarket, was identified through her uniform, hair and necklace.

Fabian’s remains were recovered three weeks after a 7.0-magnitude earthquake struck Haiti on January 12, he said.

The repatriation of Fabian’s remains was based on the request of her sister Rosalyn, who is also based in Haiti. The remains of Fabian were initially interred at the national cemetary in the capital city of Port-au-Prince. But her family in the Philippines requested the DFA to have her remains repatriated.

“We would like to honor the family’s request to have her home,” DFA Undersecretary for Migrant Workers Affairs Esteban Conejos said.

Virus or I don't know what the heck is this!

I wasn't able to open my web whole day yesterday because the crazy cookies blocking it. Every time I opened my blogger account, the quoted word says, clear the cookies, cache and blah blah blah... always flashing in my homepage grrrrrrr it pisses me off. I tried to clear them but nothings happen. I had couple of task from SS supposed to be done yesterday and now the other one is gone already. Damn spamers! or whatever you called it. Glad this morning hubby fixed it. I hope those stupid animals won't disturb my site anymore or else i'll kill them lol! grrrrrrrrrr!

Orange

My husband and I got lucky to bought our new house now because we don't need to plant any fruits. If we need to eat orange, apple, peach, walnut and lime, they're already in our backyard. Those fruits that I mentioned above, the orange and lime only bore of fruits. Some other fruits I think its seasonal. I got sore

After watching the amazing NFL final championship games - Superbowl, now my body got sore cleaning up the dirty in our back and front yard. My Father in Law taught his son(my husband) on how to trim the fruit trees and roses before the games start. So yesterday my job was to cut them into small pieces before throwing them in a garbage can. Cutting the huge branches made me sore because I use the small saw lol! I think next time i'll use the chain saw for faster and easier:-P

Talking about weight loss, that's my number one concerned for this year 2010. I gained more weight since I had a baby. It's not too much though but I don't want to be called a fatty Mama hahaha!
